Hydroquinone 2% cream


What Hydroquinone is used for:

Hydroquinone is used topically to lighten areas of the skin that have become darker (hyperpigmentation) due to freckles, melasma (brown patches on the skin), acne scars or age spots.


Do not use Hydroquinone:

If you’re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine.


Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before using this medicine.

Tell your doctor if you have a sulfite allergy.

It is important to use sunscreen while being treated with Hydroquinone. It can affect the efficacy of this medicine.

Test on a small areas of your skin before using on larger areas.

Hydroquinone may produce a gradual blue-black darkening of the skin. If this occurs, stop using it and talk to your doctor. 


Possible side effects:

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Side effects include:

Allergic skin reactions

Redness

Stinging on the site of application

Dryness

How to use Hydroquinone :

This medicine is intended for adults and children 12 years and older.

This medicine is for external use. Keep out of your mouth, nose, and eyes.

Use as indicated by your doctor.

Wash your hands before and after use.

Apply a thin layer twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime.


How to store Hydroquinone :

Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).

Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

*Dosage form and route of administration of Hydroquinone 2% cream should be prescribed according to therapeutic indication and disease severity of each individual patient.
