What Fluvastatin is used for:

Fluvastatin is used to lower the levels of "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood. It can also raise the levels of "good" cholesterol. It is used to lower the chances of heart problems and slow the buildup of too much cholesterol in the arteries of the heart.

Do not take Fluvastatin:

·         If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.

·         If you have liver problems

·         If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:

·         If you have muscle aches or weakness.

·         If you have kidney problems.

·         If you have problems with your thyroid gland.

·         If you have diabetes.

·         If you have a heart disease.

·         If you consume more than 2 glasses of alcohol per day.

Possible side effects:

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Serious side effects:

·         Muscle damage

·         Liver problems

Fluvastatin interacts with a lot of medicines. Especially tell your doctor if you take medicines for:

·         your immune system

·         cholesterol

·         infections

·         heart failure

·         seizures
