What Isopropyl alcohol is used for:

  • It is used as external antiseptic for the prevention of topical infections associated with burns or minor cuts/scrapes
  • It is also used as an external stimulant by rubbing and massaging hand sanitizer 
  • Preparation of skin prior to injection or surgery

Do not use isopropyl alcohol if:

  • Do not use isopropyl alcohol on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin. 

Warnings & Precautions:

  • If this product gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina, rinse with water.
  • Isopropyl alcohol is flammable. Do not use near high heat or open flame.
  • Do not smoke until the medicine has completely dried on your skin.
  • Isopropyl alcohol is not a substitute for other types of alcohol. Do not drink.

  • Cold feeling

Other medicines and Isopropyl alcohol:

  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.
  • It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied isopropyl alcohol.

How to use Isopropyl alcohol:

  • Dilute with water as desired. 
  • To sanitize hands: Scrub hands and arms with soap and water. 
  • Rinse with water and then scrub with alcohol. 
  • For small parts: Apply a small amount of this product to your skin using a clean cotton ball, cotton swab, or cotton gauze. Throw away the cotton applicator and use a new piece of cotton if you need to apply more isopropyl alcohol.
  • To use isopropyl alcohol for sore muscles, apply a generous amount to the skin and rub in until the alcohol dries.
  • Do not allow a child to use this product without supervision
  • Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.
  • To reduce the risk of infection with improper topical antiseptic use and to prevent possible product contamination,
  • Ensure use is according to labeling directions.
  • Single-use containers should be applied only 1 time to 1 patient and remaining applicators or unused solution should be thrown out
  • Do not dilute antiseptic

How to store Isopropyl alcohol:

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. 
  • Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
