Product description:

  • This medicine works by stopping a protein in the body called 'IL-23', which causes inflammation.

Plaque psoriasis:

  • Skyrizi is used to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults.
  • Skyrizi reduces the inflammation and can therefore help reduce the symptoms of plaque psoriasis, such as burning sensation, itching, pain, redness and peeling.

Psoriatic arthritis:

  • Skyrizi is used to treat psoriatic arthritis in adults. 
  • Psoriatic arthritis is a disease that causes inflamed joints and psoriasis. 
  • You may first receive other medicines if you have active psoriatic arthritis.
  • If these medicines do not work well enough, you will be given Skyrizi, either alone or in combination with other medicines to treat psoriatic arthritis.
  • Skyrizi reduces inflammation and can therefore help to reduce pain, stiffness and swelling in and around the joints, pain and stiffness in the spine, skin rashes due to psoriasis, nail damage due to psoriasis, and it can slow down the development of damage to bones and cartilage in the joints. These effects can simplify your normal daily activities, reduce fatigue and improve your quality of life.

How To Use:

  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. 
  • Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
  • This medicine is given as an injection under the skin (a so-called " subcutaneous injection").

Warnings and precautions:

Do not use Skyrizi if:

  • You are allergic to risankizumab or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • You have an infection , including active tuberculosis , that your doctor thinks is important.

Talk to a doctor, pharmacist or nurse before and during use of Skyrizi if:

  • you have an ongoing infection or if you have an infection that keeps coming back.
  • you have tuberculosis .
  • you have recently received or are planning to receive a vaccine. There are certain types of vaccines you should not receive while using Skyrizi.
  • It is important to keep track of the production number of the Skyrizi.
    Each time you receive a new pack of Skyrizi, note the date and production number (which is on the pack after "Lot") and keep this information in a safe place.

Allergic reactions:
Talk to a doctor or seek medical help immediately if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction while taking Skyrizi, such as:

  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
  • Severe itching of the skin, with a red rash or raised bumps

Children and youth:

  • Skyrizi is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18.
  • This is because Skyrizi has not been studied in this age group.

Other medicines and Skyrizi:

Talk to a doctor, pharmacist or nurse if:

  • You are using, have recently used or plan to use other medicines.
  • You have recently received or are about to receive a vaccine.
  • There are certain types of vaccines you should not take while using Skyrizi.
  • Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before and during use of Skyrizi if you are unsure.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility:

  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant. 
  • This is because it is unknown how this medicine affects the child.
  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must use contraception while using this medicine and for at least 21 weeks after the last dose of Skyrizi.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed.
