Product Description

Salofalk 3 g Granules contain mesalazine, an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat ulcerative colitis. The prolonged-release granules help reduce inflammation in the bowel and maintain remission.

Indications: Who is it for?

Salofalk is indicated for the treatment of acute episodes of ulcerative colitis and for preventing relapse in adults. It may also be used in children aged 6 years and older under medical supervision.

How to use

Take the granules orally by placing them directly on the tongue and swallowing with plenty of water without chewing. Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Dosage & Administration

The usual adult dose is one 3 g sachet once daily, preferably in the morning. Treatment duration is usually 8 weeks for acute episodes or as directed by your doctor.

Warnings & Precautions

Use with caution if you have kidney, liver, or lung problems. Regular blood and urine tests may be required during treatment. Stop taking the medicine and seek medical advice if you develop severe allergic reactions, serious skin reactions, or symptoms of kidney problems.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include headache, rash, itching, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and indigestion. Serious allergic reactions and severe skin reactions may occur rarely.

Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor if you are taking azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine, thioguanine, warfarin, lactulose, or any other medicines.
