Product Description
Stivarga contains the active ingredient regorafenib, a targeted cancer medicine that slows the growth and spread of cancer cells by blocking tumour growth and reducing their blood supply. It is used to treat certain advanced cancers in adults.
Indications: Who is it for?
Stivarga is indicated for adults with metastatic colorectal cancer previously treated with other therapies, advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) after treatment with imatinib and sunitinib, and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) previously treated with sorafenib.
How to use
Take Stivarga exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water after a low-fat meal at the same time each day. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablets.
Dosage & Administration
The recommended dose is 160 mg (four 40 mg tablets) once daily for 3 weeks, followed by 1 week without treatment, completing a 4-week treatment cycle. Your doctor may adjust the dose or interrupt treatment if necessary.
Warnings & Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, bleeding disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease, recent surgery, infections, or kidney problems. Regular monitoring of liver function and blood pressure is required during treatment.
Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include tiredness, decreased appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, abdominal pain, hoarseness, rash, hand-foot skin reaction, high blood pressure, infection, bleeding, and abnormal liver function tests. Serious liver problems may occur and require immediate medical attention.
Contraindications
Do not take Stivarga if you are allergic to regorafenib or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
